Morris Early Childhood - Congratulations JenniferLegg, Morris Early Childhood Center’s 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year! Mrs.Legg is a Special Education Kindergarten Teacher at Morris. Prior to becoming ateacher at Morris Mrs. Legg taught Pre-K at Avenue Preschool for six years andserved as a paraprofessional in our district while acquiring her teachingcertificate. She serves on various committees at the school level and teachesELA at Polytech twice a week for their Early Literacy Program. She is anextremely dedicated teacher who advocates for her children day in and day out,but most of all she is a true inspiration to others. We are excited to have herrepresent us at Morris Early Childhood Center! Congrats, Jennifer!
BannekerElementary - Congratulations to Sandy Tinsley forbeing named Banneker’s Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Tinsley is a caring andcompassionate 3rd grade immersion teacher. Her energetic and creative naturemakes her students want to learn. She establishes a true classroom “family”where her students trust and encourage each other to be their BEST. Herstudents will tell you that Mrs. Tinsley makes her lessons “fun” and asthe student who nominated her said, “she always listens to us and teaches us alot of great things!” Mrs. Tinsley is a life-long learner herself, and recentlycompleted her Master’s degree in Educational Technology. She has used herknowledge in this area to create dynamic remote learning experiences for herstudents, something especially important now. Mrs. Tinsley is also a teacherleader who shares her expertise with her colleagues. We are honored to haveMrs. Tinsley represent Banneker as this year’s Teacher of the Year. Congrats,Sandy!
Mispillion Elementary - Congratulations to Jennifer Nichols forbeing named Mispillion Elementary's Teacher of the Year! In Ms. Nichols’ thirdgrade classroom, she focuses on creating a positive environment for herstudents both for their learning and for their social emotional well-being. Sheunderstands that each child grows and develops at their individual pace, andplans for and supports them to reach their highest potential. She growsher students by building individual relationships with them and their families.She connects with them by sharing her love of reading and dogs. As the thirdgrade instructional coach, she leads her team members by providing them withguidance and support that comes from her experiences and her passion forlearning. Congratulations, Jennifer!
Ross Elementary - Congratulationsto Kim Webb for being named Ross Elementary's Teacher of the Year! As afourth grade teacher, Ms. Webb’s classroom instruction and knowledge of studentneeds and learning is admirable. Leadership is one of the many attributes shedemonstrates as the Instructional Coach for her grade level team and leadteacher mentor for the district and has served our school and district ina variety of capacities ranging from Special Education Coordinator for thebuilding and previous Milford School District Teacher of the Year, to coach ofone of our State Softball Championship teams, and currently serving on thedistrict “We Are Milford” committee. Central Academy -CONGRATULATIONS to Kristin Schlegel for being named Milford CentralAcademy’s Teacher of the Year! Kristin has been a teacher in our district forthe past 22 years, teaching French and now Social Studies. Mrs. Schlegel has adrive and dedication to her students that is obvious in her participation inWorld History and Economics seminars and being selected to participate in theNational Geographic Teacher Leadership Academy for teaching. Kristin hasserved as a mentor to new teachers and is her department lead for 6th grade socialstudies. We are proud of everything Mrs. Schlegel has accomplished during herteaching career and are honored to be able to recognize her as MCA’s Teacher ofthe Year. Congrats, Kristin!
Milford High - Congratulationsto Amy Roscoe for being named Milford High Schools Teacher of the Year!Amy is from a family of excellent educators. As a special education teacher,Amy always finds creative ways to educate our most struggling students. Herdrive and dedication to meet the needs of all students is amazing. She is alsoa mentor teacher in our building and has been instrumental in providingguidance to many of our new teachers here at MHS. We are fortunate to have heron our staff and look forward to Amy having a wonderful career here at MilfordHigh School.
